Ron Howard | 1970 Volkswagen Bug | Approximately $17,000
With his parents both being experienced figures in the entertainment industry, it’s no surprise Ron Howard eventually followed suit. Beginning as a child actor, Howard got his first shot to fame with a part in The Andy Griffith Show. After a couple more on-screen gigs, though, he developed a new passion for filmmaking. Since then, Howard has made many investments behind the camera, directing films such as Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Outside the spotlight, Howard likes to keep things simple and modest. In fact, he drives around town in his 1970 Volkswagen Bug, the same car he bought when it was first released. Although he sold it just after five or six years of ownership, the director couldn’t stay away from it for too long. After some time, he found the Volk once more and bought it without a moment’s hesitation. After all, it’s the same car he and his wife drove on their first date.
