Jeff Bezos

Coming out of his job from Wall Street, Jefff Bezos founded Amazon out of his garage in Seattle in 1994. With his degree in electrical engineering and computer science, he was able to use his background to delve into e-commerce at a time when the industry was virtually non-existent. Amazon’s humble beginnings were geared towards creating the biggest online bookstore on the internet, eventually branching out to offer a plethora of products and services.

Fast forward to today, Bezos is now one of the most powerful and influential figures in the world. He is amongst the richest too, with an estimated net worth of over $201 billion. Over the years, Amazon has remained strong and even grew in revenue to 38%. Moreover, apart from Amazon, the multi-billionaire now also owns Blue Origin, an aerospace company, and The Washington Post, one of the biggest newspapers in the US.
